I Am The Child
Here is some of my original artwork. I would describe my artwork as "Big Eyed Art". When I was a little girl my mother had my room full of paintings of these beautiful "waif-like" girls that had these huge amazing eyes. I loved my beautiful big eyed beauties. As a little girl I would always try to draw them. As I grew older I forgot about my bedroom decor but began drawing these big eyed beauties that would pop into my head and suddenly that became the style I sketched and painted in. My mother is the one that mentioned one day that my big eyed beauties reminded her of something but she couldn't put her finger on it. Finally one day while cleaning out her storage room she found some of my stuff from my room when I was a little girl and in there was a canvas of one of these "waif-like" girls. When I went to visit one day she told me to shut my eyes and hold my hands out and when I opened my eyes......there was one of my favorite childhood memories, my big eyed girl painting from when I was a child. That's when she said,"This is what your painting style reminds me of!" I then realized that she was right. I then decided to research these beauties. I found that this big eyed style started in the 60's. It started with a husband and wife team with the name of Keane. Now there is a revolution and renovation of big eyed art popping up everywhere. Hope you enjoy and love my version just as I loved them as a child!
